Well I really didn’t think this topic would generate such intense controversy. I thought it would be relativley straightforward and easy to find out the answer, but I guess things are more complicated than that. Hopefully we’ll get an official comment from Nintendo about it one or another. I personally don’t care if they discontinue it, I’m not going to be offended by that decision, I just wish they were more upfront about it.
NOTE: As other buyers state, this item say’s Wii memory card on the packaging it comes in. This memory card is actually for a system called Nintendo GameCube. It does work on the Wii but only to save Nintendo Gamecube Games. If you’re looking for a Wii memory card for Wii games, that would an SD card you’re looking for.

I had the same issue on my HP laptop after upgrading to windows 10. I was able to fix the issue by uninstalling the SD card reader, restarting my computer, and then running the device troubleshooter with the SD card placed in the card reader slot. Make sure the card is placed in the card reader device while running the troubleshooter. That worked for me.
