The most common memory cards typically come in 8GB, 16GB, 32GB, 64GB and 128GB capacities. However, some high-capacity cards can now hold terabytes (TB) of data. One TB is equal to 1,000GB. I bought this to run on my Droid Razr Maxx HD phone. Worked fairly smoothly at first. Then in the two days prior to total failure, it kept unmounting from my phone. After that nothing. Won’t read on my phone or pc at all. Dead in the water. I like the price, the capacity, and the brand name. Wish I could rate it higher, but when something fails so badly, there is no value in it or any way I could give it a higher overall rating.

Rob, what do you see in your device manager? Type “Device Manager” in the Windows search area.  Under Disk Drives, you should see something like the picture below.   If not maybe a  Triangle with an “!” inside  it.  Right click on it, and it should give you the option to search for a driver..
The guaranteed cycle count may apply only to block zero (as is the case with TSOP NAND devices), or to all blocks (as in NOR). This effect is mitigated in some chip firmware or file system drivers by counting the writes and dynamically remapping blocks in order to spread write operations between sectors; this technique is called wear leveling. Another approach is to perform write verification and remapping to spare sectors in case of write failure, a technique called bad block management (BBM). For portable consumer devices, these wearout management techniques typically extend the life of the flash memory beyond the life of the device itself, and some data loss may be acceptable in these applications. For high reliability data storage, however, it is not advisable to use flash memory that would have to go through a large number of programming cycles. This limitation is meaningless for ‘read-only’ applications such as thin clients and routers, which are programmed only once or at most a few times during their lifetimes.
In most respects, the above types of flash memory cards differ from those used in enterprise storage. EMC is credited with being the first vendor to include SSDs in enterprise storage hardware when it added them to its Symmetrix disk arrays in 2008, spawning the advent of hybrid arrays that combine flash drives with a traditional spinning disk. Initially, enterprise SSDs in hybrid arrays were relegated for caching read data in flash due to their higher cost and lower endurance compared to HDDs.

An SD Card (Secure Digital Card) is an ultra small flash memory card designed to provide high-capacity memory in a small size. SD cards are used in many small portable devices such as digital video camcorders, digital cameras, handheld computers, audio players and mobile phones. In use since 1999, SD Memory Cards are now available in capacities between 16 Megabytes and 1 Gigabyte. An SD card typically measures 32 x 24 x 2.1 mm and weighs approximately 2grams.
When executing software from NAND memories, virtual memory strategies are often used: memory contents must first be paged or copied into memory-mapped RAM and executed there (leading to the common combination of NAND + RAM). A memory management unit (MMU) in the system is helpful, but this can also be accomplished with overlays. For this reason, some systems will use a combination of NOR and NAND memories, where a smaller NOR memory is used as software ROM and a larger NAND memory is partitioned with a file system for use as a non-volatile data storage area.

Eight GameCube games support network connectivity, five with internet support and three with local area network (LAN) support.[63][64] The only internet capable games released in western territories are three role-playing games (RPGs) in Sega’s Phantasy Star series: Phantasy Star Online Episode I & II, Phantasy Star Online Episode I & II Plus, and Phantasy Star Online Episode III: C.A.R.D. Multi Media Cards have the same physical appearance as Secure Digital Cards, but just without the access lock. They are used as an alternative to SD and will fit most compatible cameras, although transfer rates are lower.

SDHC host devices are required to accept older SD cards.[10] However, older host devices do not recognize SDHC or SDXC memory cards, although some devices can do so through a firmware upgrade.[11] Older Windows operating systems released before Windows 7 require patches or service packs to support access to SDHC cards.[12][13][14]

SD cards are also available in various speeds. If you’re using a point-and-shoot digital camera or a standard-definition pocket camcorder, speed class won’t matter much. If you’re shooting high-resolution RAW photos with a digital SLR, however, you need a quick card to take more than two or three shots at a time. SD cards are generally described by their Speed Class, ranging from Class 2 (slowest) to Class 10 (fastest). There’s also a separate, even faster category called UHS Class 1 (for Ultra High Speed), but most current devices can’t use them.

Because of the particular characteristics of flash memory, it is best used with either a controller to perform wear leveling and error correction or specifically designed flash file systems, which spread writes over the media and deal with the long erase times of NOR flash blocks.[58] The basic concept behind flash file systems is the following: when the flash store is to be updated, the file system will write a new copy of the changed data to a fresh block, remap the file pointers, then erase the old block later when it has time.
The above types of memory cards are usually associated with consumer devices, such as digital cameras, smartphones and tablets. The cards come in varying sizes, and storage capacities typically correspond directly to their price.
The write speed describes how fast images can be saved onto a card, which is important when shooting bursts of images in continuous shooting mode, HD video or when using high resolution cameras that shoot particularly large files.
