I am using this memory card for saving Gamecube games on my softmodded Wii. I am USB loading the games with Dios-Mios. That being said, I doubt that it is my application that is causing this card to fail because it has a very difficult time recognizing the card even in the Wii data options.

A group called the Open NAND Flash Interface Working Group (ONFI) has developed a standardized low-level interface for NAND flash chips. Size is probably the next biggest consideration when shopping SD memory cards. Think about how you take pictures. Do you like to go a long time in between downloads to your computer? Do you shoot with the RAW file format? Does your camera have a high megapixel count? If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, you might need a large SD card of 32GB or more. If not, a smaller SD card may meet your needs.

Another memory card type used in top-end professional cameras and camcorders is CFast. A variant of CompactFlash, this memory card format has an extremely fast write speed and can be used in cameras that capture the highest quality images and video.
A hybrid version of the Nintendo GameCube with a commercial DVD player, called Q, was developed by Panasonic as part of the deal struck with Nintendo to develop the optical drive for the original GameCube hardware. In February 2014, SanDisk announced a new microSD card, the MicroSDXC. At the time, the cards held up to 128GB. To enable this amount of storage capacity on a removable microSD card, SanDisk developed a proprietary technique that allows for 16 memory die to be vertically stacked, each shaved to be thinner than a strand of hair. At the time of their release, these cards had capacities ranging from 8GB to 128GB, with the prices ranging from $29.99 to $199.99. [6][5]
