I have done it and it works… Go into disk management (word of warning my issue might have been different from yours.). You should see your sd card reader. I fixed this by right clicking on the large box which corresponds to the sd card at the bottom of the window and I clicked “Change drive letter and paths” assign a letter and you should be fine if your issue is the same as mine.

I am using this memory card for saving Gamecube games on my softmodded Wii. I am USB loading the games with Dios-Mios. That being said, I doubt that it is my application that is causing this card to fail because it has a very difficult time recognizing the card even in the Wii data options.

I bought this card for my Samsung Galaxy S II (T-Mobile T-989) and couldn’t be happier. I’ve got about 15 games, 10 apps, and 200+ songs on it and barely put a dent in it. The speed is also amazing…real fast. I work in a very dusty construction type environment in Michigan, outdoors, year-round, so the durability is also a nice plus. Water resistant (submersed) for up to 72 hrs and temp range of -13 to 185. Sandisk really got it right with this one.

This article seems leaned towards USB-C which I feel remains a newer standard that most computer owners don’t have or need yet. Mac and PC’s are so powerful these days that there is less incentive to upgrade to newer models, especially as Apple annoyingly continues to get rid of all ports. There should be more options for the “traditional” USB ports section. For example, @99EE:disqus and @kinnonyee:disqus have pointed out that Lexar Professional Workflow SR2 was not included in the review, although it has rave reviews on Amazon and B&H.
By repeating deletion and write of files, data area is gradually fragmented and it influences write speed. Generally, write speed to a fragmented area is slower than sequential write speed due to flash memory characteristics. In an era when memory capacity is not large enough, fragmented write needed to be considered. However, high capacity memory card is available at this time, Speed Class write is defined to perform sequential writes to a completely un-fragmented area (called “Free AU”). It makes Speed Class controls of host easy. On the other hand, even unused memory exists in total, there is a possibility that host cannot perform Speed Class recording. However, when I look at “This PC” (I am on Windows 10) via File Explorer, I still cannot see anything that looks like an SD drive listed…. I’m back to square one. All I want to do is format an SD card (and a Micro SD card via an adapter) via the slot in the Notebook- but it seems not to be possible….
Hope in the future that Amazon punishes vendors who ship inferior, counterfeit, or products different than described or pictured. Right now, the only way I see to determine if this might be the case is to S L O W L Y read the 1 and 2 Star reviews for a product. Four or maybe even two years ago, you could comfortably make a purchase based on 4-Stars or above. No more – especially on these commodity products where confusion exists regarding product specifications. I haven’t really been able to find reviews for this reader that thoroughly address the issue of car connectivity [and I’ll admit I gave a few a quick once-over and was just trying to key in on a few words]. I bought this item on a gamble because of that. I figured that for the price, if it wouldn’t work with my car, I can always find another use for it, with barely a dent in my wallet.
The Kingston had read and write speeds of 159 MB/s and 127 MB/s, respectively, during our SD card test. In our microSD card test, it had expected read and write speeds of 83 MB/s and 69 MB/s. It was a bit slower when reading and writing to a CF card, with speeds of 127 MB/s and 107 MB/s.
