The GameCube features two memory card ports for saving game data. I am using this memory card for saving Gamecube games on my softmodded Wii. I am USB loading the games with Dios-Mios. That being said, I doubt that it is my application that is causing this card to fail because it has a very difficult time recognizing the card even in the Wii data options.

^They quit releasing new games for the GC, but they’re still producing the GameCube system as well as all first-party games released for it. Also, Nintendo hasn’t released ANY official information saying they discontinued production of the GC. The production info in the Game Daily interview is completely false, it was confirmed that Perrin Kaplan is wrong again. And so, the GC is still in production, shipped to stores, and sold worldwide and that’s a fact.

A hybrid version of the Nintendo GameCube with a commercial DVD player, called Q, was developed by Panasonic as part of the deal struck with Nintendo to develop the optical drive for the original GameCube hardware. Featuring a completely revised case, the Q overcomes the size limitation of the original GameCube’s miniDVD tray by adding a commercial DVD-sized tray, among other hardware revisions. Worked fine for about 90 days then started showing “reading card” on start ups and suddenly NOTHING. From other reviews it appears to be a common problem with Samsung Galaxy phones. I have a S3 and Note II and the card no longer works on either. If you have the same combo and are coming up on 90 days, backup everything frequently and wait for “Sudden Death”, other than that its a great value IF SanDisk PAYS YOU to use it. To be fair perhaps Samsung is part of the problem – but so far no one appears to be part of a solution.
Reading from NOR flash is similar to reading from random-access memory, provided the address and data bus are mapped correctly. Because of this, most microprocessors can use NOR flash memory as execute in place (XIP) memory, meaning that programs stored in NOR flash can be executed directly from the NOR flash without needing to be copied into RAM first. NOR flash may be programmed in a random-access manner similar to reading. Programming changes bits from a logical one to a zero. Bits that are already zero are left unchanged. CompactFlash drive technology: The forerunner to the SD card, the original CF cards were designed on the Parallel Advanced Technology Attachment standard and were no larger than a matchbook. CF cards included a microcontroller and were used as flash memory storage for high-resolution photography. CF and SD cards lack built-in USB computer device connectivity.
Nevertheless, in order to be fully compliant with the SDXC card specification, many SDXC-capable host devices are firmware-programmed to expect exFAT on cards larger than 32 GB[citation needed]. My experience with this 64MB Memory Card is with a Wii used to play GameCube games. There are lots of good reviews but when I used the card, the GameCube did not recognize the card at all. After reading the 3/2/1 star reviews, I saw that: (1) The card seems to perform much better with an actual GameCube (2) People were able to get the card working with the Wii by wiggling it around (not really a good sign) (3) People have had corruption issues with the card – usually with the Wii. After searching around, I found that even Nintendo larger capacity cards have this problem with the Wii. The recommendation is to use the low capacity Nintendo cards which are priced fairly low. After all of that, I tried this 64MB card again and it is working – which is why I am giving 3 stars. I also ordered the Nintendo lower capacity card and will switch over to it when it arrives (for reliability).

SD cards are also available in various speeds. If you’re using a point-and-shoot digital camera or a standard-definition pocket camcorder, speed class won’t matter much. If you’re shooting high-resolution RAW photos with a digital SLR, however, you need a quick card to take more than two or three shots at a time. SD cards are generally described by their Speed Class, ranging from Class 2 (slowest) to Class 10 (fastest). There’s also a separate, even faster category called UHS Class 1 (for Ultra High Speed), but most current devices can’t use them.
