This card writes at a C4 speed (as indicated by the number 4 encircled by a C on the label). It’s a decent speed for smaller files, but considering a RAW photo files can be rather large, if you’re shooting high res, RAW files, this is not the card for you. It will absolutely freeze up your camera.

NAND was developed by Toshiba a year after NOR was produced. It is faster, has a lower cost per bit, requires less chip area per cell and has added resilience. The shelf life of a NAND gate is approximately 100,000 write/erase cycles. In NOR gate flash every cell has an end connected to a bit line and the other end connected to a ground. Write speed is how fast images can be saved onto a memory card. This is a critical need, especially if your camera takes high-resolution images, burst pictures or HD video. If you have a slower memory card, you may have to wait for the memory card to finish writing before you can take additional shots, which could cause you to miss the perfect photo. If your card is too slow to properly handle video, it may cause dropped frames, inferior quality, or stop recording altogether. I bought this because all of the reviews were better than any of the others that I had seen on similar cards. Worked fine for the first day on my Gamecube, but as of today (a few days after originally using the card) it’s now stating that either there is no memory card in slot A or that it’s been corrupted and needs to be formatted. Even after formatting once and just settling for the fact that I’d have to unlock characters over again in SSBM. Now I have to try and hunt down another memory card.
